SINOPSIS
En las montañas de Lesoto, un país sin salida al mar, una viuda de 80 años pone orden en sus asuntos, prepara su entierro y espera la muerte. Pero cuando su pueblo se ve amenazado con un reasentamiento forzado por la construcción de una presa, las ganas de vivir se apoderan nuevamente de ella y es capaz de despertar un espíritu colectivo de resistencia en su comunidad. Y entonces, en los últimos momentos de su vida, se forja la eterna leyenda de Mantoa.
SYNOPSIS
Amongst the mountains of land-locked Lesotho, an 80 years old widow winds up her earthly affairs, makes arrangements for her burial and prepares to die. But when her village is threatened with forced resettlement due to the construction of a reservoir, she finds a new will to live and ignites a collective spirit of defiance within her community. In the final dramatic moments of her life, Mantoa’s legend is forged and made eternal.
SYNOPSIS
Au milieu des montagnes enclavées du Lesotho, une veuve de 80 ans règle ses dernières affaires terrestres, organise son enterrement et se prépare à mourir. Mais son village est soudainement menacé par un réaménagement forcé pour la construction d’un réservoir. Elle trouve une nouvelle raison de vivre et déclenche un esprit de défi collectif au sein de sa communauté. C’est dans les derniers moments dramatiques de sa vie que Mantoa devient une légende qui restera pour l’éternité.
